The cost of egg donation with Cofertility
Summary of costs
We know IVF and egg donation are big expenses for families, and we want to help you financially plan for your donation journey. All of our pricing includes our Baby Guarantee, our promise that if for any reason outside your control your initial match does not lead to a live birth, we’ll re-match you for free until that happens.
Fresh egg donation
During a fresh egg donation journey with Cofertility, you will pay a match deposit, coordination fee, administrative expenses plus any medical expenses from your clinic associated with the screening, and egg retrieval. If your donor needs to travel for any part of this, you will be responsible for covering those costs.
**estimate is an average; expenses will vary by clinic
Two of the biggest factors in determining the overall cost of your journey are the clinic you choose to work with and whether the donor needs to travel. We can’t directly control what clinics charge for their services, but as soon as we know what clinic you’re planning to work with we can help you get an estimate for any medical expenses you may expect to incur.
Frozen egg donation
In a frozen egg donation journey with Cofertility, the number of eggs that you receive will vary based on the donor’s cycle outcomes. Pricing is based on a per-egg pricing model and the total cost of each match in turn varies based on the number of frozen eggs available. With our egg sharing model, you must keep half of the mature eggs retrieved. Meaning, if 18 mature eggs are retrieved, you must keep all 9 of the frozen eggs available for donation.
The match cost is inclusive of the match deposit and all expenses associated with the coordination of the cycle and with the donor’s screening, retrieval, and medications. It’s the all-in cost of getting frozen eggs.
Price per frozen egg included:
Post-retrieval
With either fresh or frozen egg donation, you should also expect to pay costs associated with the embryo creation process, which can include thawing (in the case of frozen eggs), fertilization, and PGT. These costs vary based on the clinic where the embryos are made.

Match deposit: $500
Cofertility’s Coordination Fee: $7,500
The Cofertility Coordination Fee covers the cost of recruiting and pre-qualifying eligible donors, facilitating a mutual match between you and the donor, overseeing the administrative process, and coordinating the donor’s screening, egg retrieval procedure, and storage.

Any money left in escrow at the end of your journey will be returned to you.
These expenses includes:
- Donor’s AMH Test (completed in order to become active on the platform)

- Donor’s long-term storage and shipping costs for her portion of the eggs
- Escrow management fee

If your donor needs to travel to the screening and/or retrieval, you'll be responsible for covering those expenses.

To place a hold on a match, you’ll put down a $500 deposit. The remainder of the match cost ($20,500+) will be due within a week of your kickoff call with your Member Advocate, which takes place within the week following your match.
If the donor has not completed her cycle at the time of matching, $20,500 will be due within a week of your kickoff call and any remaining expenses will be due within 3 business days of the donor completing her cycle.
Expenses not covered:
Expenses not incorporated in your match fees could include:
- Legal expenses for you to review the agreement with the clinic (optional)
- Shipping eggs to your clinic (if applicable)
- Thawing, fertilizing, PGT-A testing, and transferring the embryo(s)
How does donor travel work?
If you match with a donor in our fresh egg donation program who is out of state, we’ll work with all parties to determine the best places to conduct her testing, monitoring, and retrieval in order to minimize long-distance travel. You are responsible for covering travel expenses, including airfare, hotels, and meals for your donor and a companion.
If you match with a donor in our frozen egg donation program, said donor’s screening and retrieval will be either completed or in the process of being completed at one of our partner clinics. If she has to travel, those expenses will already be baked into the match cost. When the frozen eggs are ready, you can ship them to your clinic, where they’ll be thawed and fertilized, or you can work with the clinic where the retrieval took place, thawing the eggs and creating embryos onsite.
If you choose to complete your embryo creation and/or transfer cycle with another clinic, we can connect you to Cryoport or another reputable courier service that will facilitate the shipment of eggs, which we estimate is around $1,000.
What about donor compensation?
One thing that’s not here that you’ll see with other egg donation companies? Donor compensation. Our unique model allows donors in both our fresh and frozen egg donation program to freeze their eggs for free when they donate half of the eggs retrieved to your family. There is no cash compensation, eliminating a considerable expense often associated with donor egg IVF. Plus, you’ll never pay extra based on the donor’s education, heritage, or any other factors.
Do you offer any guarantees?
When you match with a donor in our fresh egg donation program, your match deposit and one-time Cofertility Coordination Fee comes with a Baby Guarantee. While cycle administrative and medical fees paid to third parties are non-refundable once incurred, if anything outside of your control gets in the way of you bringing home your baby, we’ll re-match you with another donor for no additional match deposit or Cofertility Coordination Fee. You’ll be responsible for other costs associated with the new match, but you won’t be responsible for the match deposit or for Cofertility's Coordination Fee.
When you match with a donor in our frozen egg donation program, the entire cost of your match comes with our Baby Guarantee. So, if for any reason outside your control the frozen eggs that you receive do not lead to a live birth, we’ll rematch you with a new donor with an equivalent number of eggs at no additional cost. All of the medical expenses of the second cycle are covered and the only costs you’d need to pay are the additional fertilization expenses at the clinic.
If you rematch with a donor who has more frozen eggs available, you will be responsible for covering the difference in cost. If you prefer to rematch with a donor in the fresh program, we would refund the medical expenses and put your Cofertility Coordination Fee toward a new match. You would be responsible for the administrative and medical costs associated with her fresh donation cycle.

The reduced costs reflect the fact that her screening will have already been completed.
