The number and monetary value of the grants vary each year, depending on how much has been donated and the financial needs of the recipient(s).

American Academy of Adoption Attorneys’ Family Formation Charitable Trust

Funding
$500 – $2,000 towards fertility treatment and/or adoption costs

 

Who’s Eligible?
Open to individuals or couples. At least one prospective parent in a relationship must be a U.S. citizen.

The Lowdown
Application deadlines are usually September 1 and March 1 each year. Grants may be used to support both national and international adoption. If awarded a grant, you must use it within 18 months.

BabyQuest Foundation

Funding
Grants (amount varies) to be used toward infertility treatment, including surrogacy and potentially medication costs depending on insurance coverage.

 

Who’s Eligible?
Both partners must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and treated by a Reproductive Endocrinologist in the U.S.

The Lowdown
There’s no age limit if you are using donor eggs, but for female applicants for IVF grants, preference is given to applicants under 40. If you’re over 40, don’t worry. BabyQuest asses each application on an individual basis and takes your doctor’s recommendations into account.

Bob Woodruff Foundation – VIVA (Veterans in Vitro initiAtive)

Funding
Two cycles of fertility treatment, up to $5,000 per cycle (maximum grant of $10,000)

 

Who’s Eligible?
Must be a post-9/11 military veteran who has a service-connected condition as per their VA disability ratings letter.

The Lowdown
If veteran is eligible, this grant is paid directly to the fertility center. The fertility center must be willing to provide a W9.

Carolina Conceptions

Funding
$2,500 discount on a single IVF cycle, 25-75% off medication, and 50% off services including consultations, IUIs, pregnancy tests, and more.

 

Who’s Eligible?
IVF cycle and medication discounts are for active duty military and veterans, but applicant must be a TRICARE patient in order to be eligible for other service discounts.

The Lowdown
Applicants will get a minimum of 25% off medication, but may be eligible for up to 50% or 75% off depending on their income level. You must have a physician approval prior to receiving the discount.

Center for Human Reproduction – Household Income Discounts

Who’s Eligible?
Applicants don’t need to live in New York, but must be able to travel to New York for treatment. Must have a household income of < $100,000. For EcoIVF, applicants under 38 with normal ovarian function are preferred.

CNY Fertility IVF Grant

Funding
One free IVF cycle

 

Who’s Eligible?
Must be over 18 and have zero insurance coverage for IVF.

The Lowdown
This monthly grant covers CNY's $3,900 IVF cycle which includes retrieval, anesthesia, ICSI, assisted hatching, one transfer, cryopreservation and storage for one year. Medication, monitoring, and other services are not included. Bonus: it also includes up to 7 nights stay at the Maplewood Suites Extended Stay in Syracuse, NY for those coming from outside the area (availability permitting). Grants are primarily run via social media, so follow their Facebook and Instagram page for more information. Rules change frequently and vary each month but usually involve engaging with live videos or posts.

Department of Veterans Affairs

Funding
Free assisted reproductive technology treatments

 

Who’s Eligible?
Must be a military veteran experiencing infertility as a result of a service-connected disability resulting in the need for fertility treatment in order to conceive.

The Lowdown
The VA does give other fertility help to those who qualify for care, but don’t necessarily have service-connected reproductive injuries. Those treatments include infertility counseling, blood testing, vasectomy and tubal ligation reversals and medication, and potentially others.

EMD Serono – Compassionate Care

Funding
Discounts of 25%+ on EMD Serrono’s fertility medications, with opportunity to get additional savings of up to 50-75% off the self-pay price

 

Who’s Eligible?
Applicant must be active duty military, veteran, or retired military personnel. Must also be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who doesn’t have insurance coverage for fertility treatment.

The Lowdown
Applicants can get 25% off select EMD Serrono fertility medications and may qualify for additional EMD Serrono medication discounts (10-75% off the self-pay price) based on household income. Once applicants submit their paperwork, they will hear back about what they’ve qualified for. This program is only available at select participating pharmacies. And don’t stress, this program can be used for multiple cycles per year.

EMD Serono – Compassionate Corps

Funding
Up to two free IVF cycles per year and EMD Serrono fertility medications

 

Who’s Eligible?
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who doesn’t have insurance coverage for fertility medications, and be a veteran (or spouse of a veteran) who is infertile due to a service-related injury. You must have been diagnosed by a physician as infertile and requiring IVF or Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), and not eligible for coverage under the Fertility Veterans Act.

The Lowdown
Applicants may be able to take advantage of this program for up to two cycles per year, which is pretty uncommon among other fertility grants and funding programs.

ENDOMETRIN® (progesterone) Vaginal Insert Patient Savings Program

Funding
Up to $100 off monthly Endometrin prescriptions

 

Who’s Eligible?
Cash-paying patients should be eligible for the program, as are commercially insured patients. Patients insured by government programs, including Medicare and Medicaid, are not eligible. There may be some other restrictions, so check the program website.

The Lowdown
Download the Patient Savings Card on the program website, and make sure to bring it to the pharmacy with your prescription for ENDOMETRIN to receive savings of up to $30 every 2 weeks.

Ferring Pharmaceuticals Heart Beat Program

Who’s Eligible?
Open to females considered “of reproductive age.” Must have a cancer diagnosis with no chemotherapy within the previous six months, and your oncologist and RE have recommended fertility preservation treatment.

Fertile Action’s Parenthood After Cancer Treatment Grant

Funding
Discounted or donated services for IVF, egg donation, or surrogacy

 

Who’s Eligible?
Must have had a cancer diagnosis or a diagnosis for BRCA 1 or 2 genetic mutations. You’ll need a letter of medical necessity from an RE and a medical clearance letter from an oncologist.

Gift of Adoption Fund

Funding
$1,000 – $7,500 to be used towards adoption costs

 

Who’s Eligible?
Applicants must be US citizens and have an approved home study from a Hague or COA accredited agency (if international adoption) or licensed social worker (if domestic adoption). Must demonstrate financial need.

The Lowdown
These grants aim to help keep children from entering the foster care system, unite or preserve biological siblings, prevent children from “aging out” of the orphanage system, prevent special needs children from becoming institutionalized, and facilitate placement of children with life-threatening medical conditions who won’t receive proper care until adopted.

Hasidah

Funding
Up to $15,000 towards IVF, ICSI, egg donor services, related procedures, labs, and medication costs

 

Who’s Eligible?
Applicant must identify as Jewish, with Judaism as the sole religion observed in the home. Must have sufficient income to support a family, but still demonstrate some financial need. You may qualify for this grant if you have health insurance that doesn’t cover IVF costs.

Funding

Who’s Eligible?
Applicants (or their spouses) must be medically separated from active duty, a Department of Defense Category 2 or 3 veteran, and/or have incurred a service-related injury resulting in infertility, requiring assisted reproduction. LIVESTRONG Fertility Program

Funding
Discounted fertility preservation services and free medications.

 

Who’s Eligible?
Must be “of reproductive age” and have an eligible cancer diagnosis. To apply for this grant, you must not have already started fertility-reducing cancer treatments. If you’re single, your annual income must be under $75,000; if a couple, your annual household income must be under $100,000.

Long Island IVF – IVF Grant Program

Funding

Who’s Eligible?
Must demonstrate financial hardship in some capacity.

The Lowdown
After the Patient Assessment, physicians will recommend a treatment plan and one of their financial counselors will help outline your care costs, including eligibility for reduced-cost services. You’ll need to travel to Long Island, New York for treatment.

Long Island IVF – Military Discount

10% discount off normal IVF and IUI self-pay pricing

 

Who’s Eligible?
This program is for active or retired military personnel and/or their spouses. Applicants don’t need to live in New York, but must be willing to travel to New York for treatment and must receive a consultation from the facility before applying.

Men Having Babies – Gay Parenting Assistance Program (Stage I)

Funding
Discounted or donated/free services for egg donation, surrogacy, IVF, and legal services

 

Who’s Eligible?
Individual or partners must identify as homosexual males or transgender women, and must not have any existing children. Eligibility is determined by the Men Having Babies board and will factor in location and median salary of that region. Grant is also open to some other countries besides the U.S. Applicant(s) must be 25-50.

The Lowdown
This opportunity consists of Stage I (true financial grants) and Stage II (free/donated services). Stage I applications are accepted year round, while Stage II applications are accepted July – August each year. Men Having Babies works with local organizations to adjust requirements to each country, facilitate communication with applicants, and process the documentation once submitted. Funding

Who’s Eligible?
Applicants must have either completed or begun the home study process.

The Lowdown
These grants go towards various types of adoption, including legal adoption of non-related children, private adoption, agency adoption, international adoption, or special needs adoption. There are no applicant exclusions due to race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, family characteristics or income.

New York Fertility Services

Funding
Discount of $3,500 off IVF services

 

Who’s Eligible?
Applicant may live outside of New York or New Jersey, but must be willing to travel there for treatment. Must be active military or veteran, teacher, firefighter, or policeman/woman.

The Lowdown
As of January, 2019, IVF services for those who qualify will cost $6,500 vs. the usual $10,000. Bonus for teachers: you’ll also receive fast-tracked fertility services during summer months to accommodate flexible scheduling when school isn’t in session.

Parental Hope Family Grant – FET

Funding
Full cost of one frozen embryo transfer

 

Who’s Eligible?
Applicant or partner must: (a) be a carrier of a genetic disease or chromosomal disorder that requires fertility treatment for healthy children, or (b) have a medical diagnosis of infertility or recurrent pregnancy loss by a Reproductive Endocrinologist. Certain testing is required prior to application.

The Lowdown
This grant is similar to the Parental Hope IVF Family Grant, but is meant for those who have already undergone IVF and need additional funds for a frozen embryo transfer. Must travel to Ohio for treatment and undergo treatment within 6 months of receiving this grant. The program doesn’t cover any other medical services, including embryo freezing and storage fees, genetic testing, consultation fees, and medication costs—so just keep that in mind.

Parental Hope Family Grant – IVF

Funding
One standard IVF cycle (retrieval, frozen/fresh embryo transfer, ICSI if necessary, and IVF education day)

 

Who’s Eligible?
Applicant or partner must: (a) be a carrier of a genetic disease or chromosomal disorder that requires fertility treatment for healthy children, or (b) have a medical diagnosis of infertility or recurrent pregnancy loss by a Reproductive Endocrinologist. Certain testing is required prior to application.

The Lowdown
Must travel to Ohio for treatment and undergo treatment within 6 months of receiving this grant. The program doesn’t cover any other medical services, including embryo freezing and storage fees, genetic testing, consultation fees, and medication costs—so just keep that in mind.

ReUnite Assist

Funding
Up to 75% off select fertility medications

Who’s Eligible?
Must be 21-39 and a former cancer patient who: has completed planned treatment with no evidence of disease, has completed planned treatment and one year later has stable disease, or is in remission and on long-term hormonal or targeted therapy.

The Lowdown
There are two types of Samfund Grants: the first (< $1,000) is for egg, sperm, or embryo storage. The second (< $4,000) goes towards IUI, IVF, gestational carriers, adoption, and more. Strong applicants for this grant have a concrete plan and timeline for treatment and other resources for funding the remainder of the cost if applicable.

Shady Grove Fertility – Military Discount Program

Funding
25% off qualifying self-pay rates for treatment and procedures

 

Who’s Eligible?
Must be active military or reservist with U.S. military ID card and no insurance coverage for fertility treatment. Patients may not be currently enrolled in a clinical trial or research study.

The Lowdown
If selected, you must undergo treatment at Shady Grove facilities. Applicant must have an annual household income under $95,000 and be uninsured or denied coverage for the necessary treatments and procedures.

Who’s Eligible?
Applicants must have completed a home study and be a married, Christian couple including one man and one woman. Cannot be submitted for independent adoptions through lawyers, facilitators, or humanitarian organizations, embryo adoptions, adoptions from non-Hague Convention countries, adoptions for which placement has already occurred, and adoptions for which an application has already been submitted.

Must be a US citizen or permanent resident with a cancer diagnosis between ages 18-40. A medical professional must have recommended you undergo at least one of the following: chemotherapy, radiation to your reproductive organs, surgery to your reproductive organs, or long-term drug therapy. Grants are need-based. If you’re single or legally separated, your annual income must be under $150,000; if you’re married or in an unmarried domestic partnership, your annual household income must be under $200,000.

The Dr. Stephen Greenhouse Grant is restricted to Shady Grove Fertility patients. Tinina Q. Cade Foundation – Family Building Grant

Funding

Tinina Q. Cade Foundation – Savannah Grant

Funding
