In 2014, Utah passed a law that allowed the transfer of a previously-enacted $4,000 adoption benefit to be used for infertility treatment expenses. Basically, this means an insurer is permitted, but not obligated, to authorize someone expending the $4,000 adoption benefit for infertility treatment.
